Where to Host Blogs?

This looks like a good deal with smart features - I see it is easy to install WordPress, Drupal, Joomla (hiss) etc. with Fantastico script support.

You could find shared hosting a little cheaper like lunarpages which also has Fantastico blog script installation - and very good reviews.

downtownhost's price for domain registration is a little high $15 - can you register elsewhere or do they require you register through them?

I looked on web hosting unleashed but there are no reviews yet for downtownhost, I guess they are pretty new.

I would say if they have the features you want, try them out, they have a 30 day money back guarantee, right?

Another option is to sign up for a free blog at WordPress.com - they say they host over 3,000,000 blogs!

I would discourage the use of Fantastico for installing scripts. Drupal is one of the projects that openly complains about Fantastico, and I'm sure that the problems come with any script it installs.

I think your best option is a Wordpress.com or Blogger account. Only use a shard hosting account with your own installation if you are savvy enough to install it yourself (or have someone else do it for you).

Mostly that you don't have full control over the plugins, and you can't make changes to the codebase of your site. I'm pretty sure you can use any theme, but I might be wrong. I've never used it.

I have seen that SiberName.com provides different software for blogs: b2evolution, Nucleus and WordPress.
Which one is more preferable?

Between those three, probably Wordpress.

Blog hosting is a good bet if you want to host your blog with Downtownhost.com. I always prefer to do it with the company that supports blog scripts. It makes the life of the web master much easier.

I suppose there is no psrtivcular need in the blog hosting package namely, because it is possible to host a blog or a forum at almost any shared hosting package.

I can also vote for Webhostgiant.com - their plans are designed for hosting blogs forums and galleries. Surely not only for them. They have one of the lowest prices on the market. I think there is a sence in looking up, surel;y if you didn't get a hosting yet.

Bluehost or Hostgator would be great. Just search for reviews from web hosting forum so you can decide well. If you're not using any large files such as images or videos or any media, you can have the cheapest shared plan on any webhost.

As long as your host meets the requirement of your blog software it should be the same regardless of what they specialize in. A dedicated blog host is still a web hosting provider but they are trying to corner a specific niche. Im sure they offer they same exact product as other hosts but just have worded their service differently.
