What makes a good host?

I just started my own hosting company and I am really wondering what makes people choose one over the other? Is it the support, the price, the look? Does the company have to be big? Please discuss what makes you choose hosts?

It's all of those things. Competitive prices, good plans, fast and inteligent tech support, and a good company web site design.

I think that design and support are the two top things. In order to get any accounts, I think you have to have a well-designed site. If it isnt appealing and professional looking, I think you will find out that not to many people will sign up through you. Once you get the accounts though, support is huge. When I hosted through people I expected a response at least within 24 hours if not way sooner. Those are just my thoughts. You also need to have competitive prices. You dont need to make them dirt cheap to get business...If you have a nice site and good support, it will come!
