I'm stuck. I've got to make a choice. Time to jump into bed and either live la vida loca or get royally scr...d. I'd like a poll of members to get my bearings straight. At least, this will give me someone to blame for some of the problems in my life.

I posted a very long post on the "Behind the Scenes" folder that explains in detail what I'm up to. Time seems to be passing quickly while I'm undecided...and I'm falling into the dilemma of perpetual second guessing. If any of you have time, I'd appreciate your opinions and your preferences and your past regrets as a guide for my future.

I've been on Softcomca.com for almost a year and have never seen any posts on them here. Frankly, I've never found any host with times faster than theirs,(I've never seen them take more than 150ms) but they can't handle the kind of space/service I need now.

I've had an account with CIHost since Sept. and they have great prices/packages as long as you don't really "need" tech support...for sure! I have read alot of bad about them, but I actually listed and emailed some customers and resellers asking for opinions. I got a 70/30 response in favor of them. Any comments?

When they crashed, Communitech wrote me and offered their services....how thoughtful...? And they do have a really good looking package where they offer 25 subdomains and 25 ftp accounts...which suits my needs...at least partially. Any comments?

Through this forum I found PSICD, but I'm really not impressed with the packages they offer. I found Rackspace and a couple of Dedicated Server companies as well, but I don't have the technical knowledge yet and don't feel confident in maintaining my own server. Any companies who I should look at who offer a middle ground of self service and tech support without having to own a bank to pay for it all?

Through this forum I also linked up with OLM/WebAxxs...whom I like. Probably because of the CIHost packages I'm accustomed to...but they offer "Community Building" set-ups that could help me alot. Any comments?

I've searched out various affiliate programs and software makers for "community" building but they all fall into one of two categories. High dollar and hard to get or cheezy and cheap. Any comments?

So, anyone got a quarter? I'll call the psychic hotline..... (Thank you for multiple edits....)

I don't think CommuniTech was being thoughtful, they just wanted your business. They sent that letter to all the people being hosted by CIHost.

I'd say for what you want that you'll need a dedicated server. It's that simple, or hard...

We are getting a dedicated server for sure and then I dont have to worry about thoses awful nightmares anymore! I am very happy about that..

If you need a better hosting, get a dedicated server with a realiable ISP such as digitalNATIOn, etc...

Have a nice day!

Cheers,
