Taking charge of
I feel a bit snowed as I have to take control over our own co-located web server. We use apache, resin and lynx. Totally new to all this. We have a load of domain names on register.com many of which are using cloaked re-directs to sites sitting on our server.
The immediate concern is that we have a new web site designed. I have been told to stick it on our server and get the domain name, bought from register.com, to direct to it.
I managed to get away with it in the past by using a cloaked re-direct and creating a folder within an existing website and adding the new website to that folder, then pointing the domain name via a cloaked redirect as register allows you to add a link to a particular web address ie.
existingwebaddress.com/anotherwebsitefolder/index.jsp
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Redted

*lol*
that is totally new.
httpd.conf is the main apache file
virtual domains allow you to set any folder as a domain name (I think)
I'm not a server admin but I've had to edit this sort of thing on occasion -- try searching at apache.org if no one comes to your (our) rescue here and look up those two items for details.
