i have a short url with no ads (and free !) for 2 years now. i just wonder why they do this ? i don't believe in getting something for nothing. a banner or 1 time pop-up would be more fair.

what's the catch here ? i don't get spams, no ads Confused

there are many-many short url providers giving it for free. for what ??

comments please.

Well, if you think about it. The more and more short URLs there are from one server, the more likely people are going to delete the subdomain and go to the main site. This is a way for them to get more and more people to sign up with their service.
