Has anyone heard of or had any experience with RackShack.net? I am in the market for a dedicted server in the reasonably priced category.

Thanks!

I've heard pretty decent things about them - a good amount of people recommend them because they are solid and offer great prices. The support can be a liability, though. Check out WebHostingTalk.com for more, run a search. Good luck!

Yep, definately the best bang for the buck on dedicated servers. They've been advertising on Maximum PC lately.

Thanks! I went WebHostingTalk and found that most had good things to say about RackShack Smiling I did decide to go with them and ordered my server already. So far I think their customer service and tech support is pretty good. Plus you can't beat the price Wink

Actually you are not being thorough, Rackshack is an unmanaged dedicated hosting, which mean the server is your responsibility, if you screw up something, they will charge you to fix it, however their price is very low

If you intend to provide web hosting service as well, make sure you get another second hd as backup(save all clients file to the spare disk) With rackshack it's unpredictable as I have read that when they couldn't solve some problems, they will do a full retore(default) and WHAM! all you clients files are wiped off from the server. You wouldn't want this to happen would you? telling your clients "Sorry Sir we don't have any backups of your files???"

It would be better to take precaution and do some kind of backup or regret later when something cause the only HD to act erratic and you wished you had made some backup copies.

Thanks for the insight. I addressed the backup issue from the beginning and I am fortunate to have a mother that is a server administrator so I direct most of my questions to her first. I have had some questions about Ensim but so far RackShack has been pretty good about answering them.

So far so good Smiling
