Purchasing a Domain
I am considering purchasing my own domain and I would like some advice. I don't have much of an idea about how this all works so please help me in any way possible.
I want about 20meg server space and an address something like http://www.lloydhass.com.au. I would only require 1 or 2 email address's.
Please remember I am in Australia.
How much should I expect to pay for the domain per year?
How much should I expect to pay for hosting per month?
Should I expect to pay more for ASP/CGI capable server?
Approximately what would the total cost be per month?
What different companies in Australia can arrange this for me?
I found a something thats looks OK. http://www.netregistry.au.com/ under the
Products / Economy Website Package. From the information I have given does this sound suitable?

In my opinion NR looks pretty expensive. But they are probably very good. Why not just go with an American hosting company? Almost all host foreign domains...

I also use amhosting and so far my site has been up 100% of the time (only been up for 6 weeks or so).
Regarding looking for www.lloydhass.com.au as a domain name i'm not sure about.
I don't know any domain name registering sites that give you .com.au extentions but i'm sure there plenty out there.
For $20/m i'd be looking for minimum of 250Mbs of space and a full cgi-bin and scripts.
One hosting co that i found that i still think has an amazing hosting option is standardhost.com. One thing that i don't like about it is that you have to pay a year in advance.
Check it out for yourself and see.

You can't purchase domain names: You can only RENT them.
