Powersurge.net - Comments?
I've been considering using Powersurge.net for my web site. Any comments about them? From what I've seen their support is very fast. (I recieved replies to all my questions within minutes.)
Thanks

I used to have an account with them. One day my account was suddenly gone. After a weeks attempt at finding out why my account had been deleted, thay answered that I had copyrighted material on the site. This was however a very bad excuse since I had ABSOLUTELY nothing that wasn't mine. I believe the issue was bandwidth. At this time I was transfering 7-10 Gb/Month.
However the worst thing was that they kept charging my credit card for several months. I finally had to take the help of my bank to make them stop.
Server uptime was poor aswell.
I have since moved my domain to Jumpline.net. A very stable host in my mind.
This is only what happened to me. Perhaps they have improved since I was with them 5 months ago..

Hi. Powersurge is a very good host. Yes, their support is good most of the time and I think they are improving even more. Their control panel is also great. There are only two bad points about them:
1.) They do not offer ICQ support
2.) They refuse to setup a forum for their members. Instead, they just have a chat room which is not monitored and no one uses it. I even offered to set one up for free but they still refused to have a forum. Oh, well, I guess you can't have everything .

I can't understand why they would not want a forum? It must be because they are short on staff and do not have the time needed to moderate.

Stefen,
I would suggest that you at least send an e-mail to Burstnet (burstnet.net). They offered to meet or beat any deal I could cut with another webhost and they surely did!
Feel free to tell them that Voltec (basketball-game.com) sent you... they are setting my account up today. I wouldn't mind letting them know that I am happy enough to be referring others to them.
