hi. i hope im asking this in the right place. ok. i run my own server off of my own personal computer. i am currently hosting 3 websites and lots of files. i have a domain name and it is forwarded to my ip. also if i ever need to link to something that is on my server, i have to use the format http://my.ip.goes.here/blah/blah/blah.html/jpg/etc

my problem is, i want to be able to use the format http://domainname.com/blah/blah.html when i link something so that way if my ip ever changes all i gotta do is change the ip that my domain name points to and all my links will still work. but for some reason that doesnt work or im doing something wrong. any suggestions?

Do you know how that works ie you need a name server for that it doesn't have to be local but it as to be somewhere. if you have one did you check that domainname.com point to your ip. if so is domainname.com configure in your webserver.

Need more info if you want some help Smiling
