Is there a tool, site or a script that can do it? For example how to check all available 3 and 4 letter domains with .com and .net?

It's possible but time consuming and would require constant pressure on the whois server. The techie guys at the registrar would probably ban your IP before the script finished. (Unless you used multiple whois servers and switched between them!). Doing whois lookups is easy

Use google to find a free whois script then write another script that will run through all conatations and search for them. Not that hard really.

Although the site looks a bit "spammy" I use http://www.namerazor.com/ to some effect...

The best desktop software for this is domain name analyzer pro and it can be found here http://www.softnik.com/
