Hello,
I wonder what are the most used software applications on average Linux based shared hosting account. I have some statistics but I'm curious if it applies for a larger community of sites.
advertising management scripts or software
CMS software
forum
blog
in-house site statistics
WIki or bookmarking applications
image galley software
shopping carts
web directory (link directory)
survey/online poll software
other...

I'd say this is CMS and forum scripts, but these are host who should be asked about it.
Edited: I've just read this one hosting company's site that clients most of all ask for Cuteftp and SmartFTP files when they sign.

I see lots of requests for YouTube hosting these days, so we could probably add FFMPeg to the list of features, I think people are too obsessed about creating YouTube clones, that's why companies like cirtexhosting.com and hostV.com offer what they cal "Youtube hosting".

Lol, I think CMS is the system used the most as it can be made to incororate differnt aspects like shopping carts and blogs etc.
