MichLink, No Setup, No Bandwidth...??? - http://www.michlink.com/
Has anyone heard of this company? They appear to be using the VERIO backbone, and their Cobalt RaQ2 seems like a good deal, $400 a month, no setup, no bandwidth, no contract.
Good/Bad?

I would advise to approach this company with caution

I'm not sure what to say, the prices are nice but there's no sales or support phone number or address, no tos, almost nothing at all. I emailed them and will tell you what reply I get...

24 hours and I have not gotten a response.
That is the bad thing about certain companies.
We will see... let me know.

---
> Do you help me install the SSL certificate?
> Are there additional fees if I have SSL?
SSL software is $99.00 / one time fee. The certificate is $100/year from - www.thawte.com (this is a price)
We will also install it for you...
> Do you install PHP, and MYSQL
If you have the software we can install it for you...
> What is the setup time when I purchase it?
Dedicated server right now will only take a day.
> Do you bill me by credit card for setup, then
> by check monthly?
There is no setup fee execpt for the SSL software. You can bill you by credit card or by invoice.
> Is there a tech support number?
1-888-560-7816
> Is someone available 24/7 to talk to?
Voice is 6:00am to 3:30pm... E-mail support is 24/7...

Tjmmmm.. What to do, what to do.
I would like to know if anyone currently does business with them, or HAS, and what their experiences are.
Thanks
Michele

Hello everybody.
Just some more info, the answers to my email:
----
> - what is your connection to the backbone
Three T-3 Lines from Verio located in Livonia, Michigan
(We are on Verio's backbone)
> - how can you provide unlimited data transfer
Verio is offering us unlimited bandwidth on there network (which we pay for)
and we push this unlimited bandwidth offer off to are customers.
> - are there special prices when we sign up for multiple servers
If you pay for 5 months of service before hand we provide 1 month free.
If you pay for 10 months of service before hand we provide two months free.
If you get more than three servers then we provide a 50% discount on your
service...
----
Especially the last answer seems very attractive. Get three RAQ's and save 50%. Does Verio really provide unlimited transfer? The site is fast (and hosted on a RAQ).
You may also want to check out 2o.net , same RAQ also USD 400/month unlimited traffic.
Any thoughts about this? We would like to host our customers on our own servers instead of reselling. Should we go with unlimited bandwith or should we limit our customers? We really don't know what to expect for bandwith usage.
Is Michlink pushing the connection?
Thanks.
Dennis.

Wow, 50%.. nice deal.
However, it is not 50% off three, it is 50% off the third one, and every server thereafter.
Also, I asked. They have been in business 6 mos.
They claim to buy unlimited bandwitdth from verio, which they pass on to their customers..
I don't know what else to say...

hostexperts - it wouldn't KILL you to read the message befor eyou post a reply. Your advertisement is about some cheap, virtual plan, this message is about dedicated servers, get a clue.

Yesterday I wrote an email message to Michlink with a few additional questions. Their response on my first message was very quickly.. received nothing until now on my second message. Tried to surf to their site.. can't connect to it.
Think this is not a good choice.
I'm now looking at superbraq.net. A Raq 2+ (scsi connector) 256 Mb/16.8 Gb for $245. Bandwith $195 for 50 GB.
Looks nice.. I'll let you know.

Ted,
The Host Experts problem was resolved. TWF is a ANTI-SPAM site. Due to the fact that Host Experts did nothing more than sign up to spam, they have been deleted. If they re-register and continue to spam, we will take more active measures to keep them from doing so.
