Hiya Ohrana, are you affiliated with MarbleHost.com? If you are, I'll move this to the Services and special offers area. Or are you just asking for opinions on whether they're any good?
Personally, am sure I've heard of them, but haven't got any first-hand experience. They've got two positive reviews on Web Hosting Unleashed.

Hi Ohrana! Is it Linux or Windows package from Marblehost.com that yoiu intend to go for?
I think their pricing is really ok, I'm sure I've read threads about them and Marble host is active at some forums, can't tell you exactly at what forums, but you will find it via Google.

Preinstalled scripts are offered by any host today, you should admit it.
Offering a website builder and a free domain is really a good strategy.
What website builder do Marblehost.com offer?

I think this free domain with a package plan is offered only for clients. MarbleHost.com provides it all to attract as many clients to their hosting as possible and it's good. Think of their customers.

Thanks for your replies, guys.
They are really helpful for me. These free bonuses from MarbleHost.com also help me to build my own web site and host it with this company.

All these free bonuses from MarbleHost.com are useful for those who just started their business. Shared web hosting is very cheap and one can get experience building your own web site.

MarbleHost.com offers PHP4 and PHP 5 - what is the differance in this vertions?

And that is difference in it. But I have hear some web applications written for PHP4 do not working with PHP5. Does Marblehost.com allow to choose? Do they recommend something? As rule there are recomendations from web hosting company included.

PHP4 is being discontinued (soon? not sure when) so you really need to go with 5. Version 6 is actually coming out soon I think so 4 is really out of date now. More and more applications will be developed for php5 now and won't work with php4.

Agreed. Sometimes (very often) PHP5 version is not good option at all for the scriptas you have.

There have been a few compelling improvements in PHP5, particularly in the area of Object Oriented Programming. Most scripts written in PHP4 should work in PHP5 however. There's a FAQ on updating scripts at: http://us3.php.net/manual/en/faq.migration5.php
Bottom line: get PHP5 if you can, scripts will eventually require the features in PHP5.

You can read about PHP6 here http://www.linux.com/articles/60386
Do you think hosts will install php6 instantly? I guess some will do it only for their new servers, and some time will pass before clients will be looking for shared plans with PHP6 installed.
I'm also not sure whether php 4 will be abandoned completely, as every company has lots of clients using it, so switching from one to another might be quite a problem.
@Solommon: sure every host allows to choose between PHP versions, the same as for Marblehost.com.

Sadly, I doubt many will.
PHP5 has been out for over three years now and hosts are only just starting to widely support it. Am certain there are some hosts who're cutting-edge enough to update, but the majority will be annoyingly slow.

I personally like that fact like that Marblehost.com offers web hosting accounts in 2 Datacenters in UK and US. And this seems very comfortable for the people.

It means much. MarbleHost.com prices on web hosting services aren't very high. Their free bonuses are one more thing that attracts many customers to them.

Among free bonuses from MarbleHost.com, their free domain name for life looks very entrancing. I wonder who is the owner of this domain. I mean who has the rights on it?

Seems that Marblehost.com one of the few that offer something different then other thousands shared web hosting providers. That is always good point for them.

I think that it is not good point for me... I would prefer good uptime and download/connection speed. As far as I understand marblehost.com is a company which offers different guaranties. Do marblehost.com offer uptime guarantees?

Marblehost.com say it's 99,9% uptime guarantee and one hour response time guarantee.

Maybe it's just jaded old me, but I really don't like web hosts that use those stock photos of happy people sitting at their computers or those live support pics of woman with their phone headsets on. I generally stay away from those companies.
And I also wouldn't recommend buying a domain name through a host. If something goes wrong, it can really get disastrous if you have to fight with them to get the domain name. (Especially if everything is established under that domain.)
Jadedness, again, what does 99.9% GUARANTEE really mean? Terms regarding those things generally exclude anything that can go wrong. So unless someone just comes in and happens to unplug everything, they, according to their terms, aren't responsible.
PHP4 is almost at its end of life. When that comes, the leading-edge hosts will start offering PHP6, but I doubt it would be widely available for a good year or two.

I know there can be too many interpretations of the 99,9% uptime quarantee, but still clients prefer to see it on the site, and even if applied to the annual uptime, it leaves enuf minutes and even hours of downtime.

Quite possible, but at the end of the day it all depends on the demand.
If hosting clients are going to need it, hosts will be providing it.

Like I said, I'm jadded I do understand about the psychological impact of the 99.9%, and yes, it does help those new to the industry. But 99.9% is the same as 'unlimited such-and-such" - it doesn't really exist.

It took quite a while for php5 to be made standard on a lot of hosts, and a lot of hosts still don't have it standard - you have to do the addhandler thing. I wouldn't expect the
crappylarge hosts to have anything to do with php6 for quite a while.~silverwing

Think I'll start to get excited about PHP6, just as PHP7 comes out (probably won't be adopted until then!)
Regarding up-times: our host guarantees 100% uptime. If the connection goes down they compensate you. The value of the compensation is higher than what you pay for the hosting, so it's a decent system in my opinion. Of course everyone knows 100% uptime is impossible, but that's not the point.
/marvintheparanoidandroid Ghastly. It all is, absolutely ghastly. Just don't even talk about it. Look at this stock photo. "All the stock photos on this Web site have been airbrushed to give them a cheerful and sunny disposition." [...] Hateful isn't it. Come on, I've been ordered to take all your money and leave you with unreliable, crap hosting. Here I am brain the size of a planet and they've got me selling crap hosting. Call that job satisfaction? Because I don't.
Sorry, couldn't help it. I know exactly what you mean though. I also dislike those stock images, they're very false and are obvious from a mile away. There's no way those people actually work for those hosting companies.
