Hello,
Last 3 months I bought a hosting service 1 year for $119.40. They gave me 120GB bandwidth each month. However, you will never be able to use all of them, even 1/2 of them. They never told me about it, and it is only tiny part in their TOS. It's talking about CPU.

Your site only can use 2,400 seconds of CPU each day. You can't use over it otherwise your account will be closed and your money is lost.

Please take a look at my math about their CPU...

- I have 120GB bandwidth per moth.
- My CPU per day is 7,768.00 seconds (130 minutes).
- With 7,768 seconds (130 minutes) --> I lost 3GB bandwidth per day.
- 3GB x 30 days = 90GB bandwidth. So, I stil have 30GB nonused bandwidth everymonth.

With 40 Minutes (also means 2,400 seconds), how much bandwidth I will
lost?
Let SEE:
- With 130 Minutes ------------------ I will lost 3GB bandwidth
- With 040 Minutes ------------------ How much bandwidth I will
lost ??GB

*** I will take 3GB x 40 Minutes devide 130 Minutes = 0.923GB per day.

So, with 40 minutes I will loose almost 1GB bandwidh per day(?)

With almost 1GB per day x 30 days = I will only use 30GB per month when I have 120GB limit permonth. (???)

Sound doesn't fair, does it?

I edit and test my site everyday from 3 to 6 hours. With that time, 40 minutes which YOU gave me will be used by only me.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THEIR SERVICE? THEY OFFER HUGE BANDWIDTH, BUT THEY NEVER ALLOW YOU TO USE ALL OF THEM.

THEY HAVE A FORUM WHERE CUSTOMER OR GUEST CAN VIEW ABOUT THEIR SERVICE AND POST AN ANSWER...HOWEVER, ONLY GOOD FEEDBACK WILL BE KEFT...OTHERS WILL BE DELETED. THE MATH ABOVE I POSTED IN THEIR FORUM AND IT HAS BEEN DELETED 4 TIMES.

SHOULD YOU BUY FROM THEM?

MY SITE IS HAS BEEN SHUTDOWN AS WELL SINCE ITS BANDWIDTH WAS OVER 2,400.

Well, you got what you paid for...

You wanted cheap hosting, right? Please note that NO ONE host will offer you 120 GB monthly bandwidth for $119 per year. Of course, it's sad... Can't you request for refund?

However, if you are searching for reliable host, we could offer a great deal for you. We NEVER NEVER NEVER add such a stupid limit and do not apply any additional fees. To be honest, I never heard about any host which has time limits.

Heh, it's ok JLHost, he hasn't even got a URL and it's not complete spam so we can let them off for now.

But if you two want to talk further please use PM or e-mail, and note phimnguoilon.ne that there are plenty of other hosts out there, this being a reminder for all of us to read that darn small print!

I'm also sure that posting a message of the same defamatory ilk on your hosts site is going to result in it getting deleted. Try for a refund (you did get quite a raw deal) and - if you're not banned - try posting more constructive critism on their forum.

I've been trying to get a refund, but they've refused. I agree with ManXP, what I paid is what I got. However, I hope TWFs members will have little attention about Dreamhost.com.

Just a pointer:
I use "http://www.fasthost.com/" and @ $6.95 ($83.40) a year I get:
95GB a month / 7000MB disk space / 5 add on domains / cpanel blah blah

as for 120GB, their next plan @ 125GB/month for $9.95 ($119.40) a year may be what you want.

I have had no problems with downtime (only once for a bit), and been with them since August 14, 2005 (yeah okay, not THAT long) but I think it's good, the only other problem is support can be half/half sometimes - but then little problems mean no real need for it (support is online, but not always that good at helping with bigger or complex issues).

So yeah, maybe consider them. A site of mine: thexelite.com - go to downloads and videos and download one to check out the speed of it.

This is very old information about DREAMHOST. I use them and I'm very satisfied

The diskspace is now 20GB, the monthly transfer is 1 Terabyte (yes !) and you
never have a problem - I host already 5 domains with one account
Also you don't have to pay the 119$, enter promo code 41OFFNOW and save 41$
so you pay only the equivalent of 6.5$ per month ! try to beat that !

How much of those 20GB and 1TB, do you actually use funlounge? 20MB?

The issue is ethics/integrety of huge overselling and the fact that none of the customers can really use what they advertise.
