I've been doing alot of homework the past two months on hosts. They seem to advertise alot on the webhosting search/info sites and they have alot of strong connections with the big guys like internet.com....
The Interland sites never really test very well, so I have some doubts about them. they are gathering alot of website owners, but when you advertise on every page at internet.com, that's bound to help.
I checked them on the more reliable webhost opinion sites and they don't rank too well there either. I've never hosted with them, but I did investigate them and felt they were probably going to be a disappointment. I'm curious to see how this thread goes.....Bobby.

I have one UNIX site with them that is currently under development. It’s a large project that will take a good amount of storage space, transfer, and resources.
I’ve spoken to them on the phone a few times. They seem very knowledgeable and actually knew when I was talking about, unlike many hosts I deal with. I’ve never had any major technical issues, so I’ve had no reason to test their tech support.
Overall I’ve been very happy with their performance and knowledge – maybe I’m just lucky
Interland spend over 80,000 dollars worth of marketing and that is how they make alot of money. They focus too much and loosing good value service to customers. I feel sorry if Interland will get stuck!

I think Interland was PC Magazine's 'editors choice' for web hosting (isn't it ironic how Interland advertises in every PC Magazine issue). It seems PC Magazine sucks up to the large technology companies. I cannot find the article because the magazine was misplaced somewhere in my house, but most of the web hostiing companies they reviewed were very large companies.

I like to use a little page at the RJL website to test site speed...mostly 'cause it's handy and pretty damn accurate for checking connection and load times for an index (splash) page.
