I would like to get a hosted dedicated server!
HAHAHAHA!!! Your joking right? That's a good one.
If you want something to server multiple domains, nice, and super fast, also ask for a 401k Plan, and a Mercedes Benz (Send it to me), cause well, it will not happen for that price.
For a P3 500 w/ 128MB RAM and 4G SCSI HD, we are talking 450 a month, on the Linux OS.
Again, ICQ me, like usual, and we will talk this over.
There is the RaQ3i, but still too expensive.
There is the CI Host server, but I do NOT, repeat DO NOT recommend it. The $99 month one. Nope. Do not do it. Anyway, ICQ me.

I dont want to spend more than $200 a month on this server, and im not looking for a super server, i want a reliable host that provides at least this:
50GB bandwidth monthly
10GB Hard Drive(at least)
Also that allows me to have multiple domains running off the same server
Please enlighten me with hosts or please suggest other specifications i should ask for

Yeah, that much bandwidth alone would bring the price well over $350/$400 per month. I would say you're looking at anything over $500 per month.

Actually that's almost exactly what I got for $195 from Dialtoneinternet.com. K6 400, 64 Mb RAM, 10 Gb hdd and 50 Gb bandwidth. You can also have unlimited domains on it, and IP's are free.

DoubleOK,
I guess it would be hard for you to find specifications and features that this low rate. Most of the hosts charge more than $300 for this. If you are able to find it, watch out on their server reliability and customer support. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Just my 2 cents. Thank you.
Regards,
Andy

My experience with Dialtone has been very good so far. Although support is about $75 per incident, you get 30 days free support when you first purchase your server. Uptime has been very good aswell.

At first I always thought I would go with DigitalNATION if I ever needed a server, but dialtone is nice. One thing I like is how they don't charge the bandwidth in large chuncks. So, once you go over 50GB you don't have to pay for another %0, but just for one. Big price difference--$150 to $3.

Ah, yes the bandwidth.. Dialtone uses what's called the 95th percentile system(or something like that). Anyhow it's some way to calculate how much bandwidth you use. While my logs showed I used less than 50 Gb, according to that system I used 71 Gb last month. So I just got a nasty little $63 bill on my card. That's about the worst thing that has happend to me at dialtone

I'm curious about this Dialtone Internet company now too.....I just checked out their site and the plans they offer....it's kinda hard to believe they don't monitor IPs on the basic server plans, but only offer limited IPs on the upscaled ones. It seems like the kind of thing you see on a host that offers unlimited bandwidth on the basic site, but a limit on the upgraded ones.
Anyone else ever heard of them? I'd like a second or third opinion....overall, though, they look pretty good.

They are legit. I did not like there sign up agreement. So before you sign up with them, make sure that there user agreement is fine with you.

The only thing that scares me about their sign-up agreement is the 6 month contract. But, as long as they provide a good service, I won't want to switch. Also, I remember seeing that they charge $500 to upgrade or degrade a dedicated server account. For that price, I most likely would find a new provider. Other than that, they seem pretty good.
I thought their prices on the RaQ 3i's were cheap for the market, or have prices gone down?

DoubleOK: I was also wondering why you need a dedicated server for a site that isn't even up yet, but anyway...
I couldn't find any plans that were $195 per month. If you were looking at the RaQ servers than check out: http://www.webmaster-forums.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000225.html

Virtualis is probably the best one I've seen so far....
Their prices are about the same as those of dialtoneinternet.com but the main thing is that...they offer 24/7/365 support for your d-server all for free.
I'm wondering how they promise to be able to install new software for you, add new hardware, and backup/check your system for errors all year long for free and at such low prices.
But then again, they have been around for a VERY long time so I guess you can at least have a little faith in their words
