I need a good cheap host
Hi all,
I have built a couple of web sites before. I now need a good reliable host who offers unlimited bandwidth and I want my domain name on the same server. Can any one help I have looked at loads of hosts but can't find one that fits my requirements.

unlimited bandwidth is rubbish, no one can offer it, always read the small print on sites offering it as they will catch you out, fine you or close you down without refunds.
you can register a domain name for $8.99 a year at godaddy.com
If you dont require anything else, like databses, server side scripting etc your search would be very easy. heaps of packages out there for under $10 a month with databases and SSI etc

The unlimited part is a big, fat lie. From Unlimband.com:

ok, i will re-frase that...
they do not limit the amount of data transfer on your site.
you can have 180Gb transfer per month if you wanted, and they wont limit you.
that better???
and yes, i did read the user policy... about 3 times acually!

I have signed upto hostmatters now.
Just waiting for them to set up my account
don't know how long it takes though.
The domain I ordered still appears to be free if I search on it.
thanks everyone

If you really believe that, then try this: e-mail them and tell them you run an MP3 server (or something else really high bandwidth) and ask them if it'd be okay since the bandwidth is "unlimited." I got $5 bucks on the fact they won't allowed it.

Seems a wise choice.
I have nothing but praise for how that company is run.
You should be happy there.
