Hi guys! It's been a very long time since I last visited this site. And this time, I'm planning to shift from blogger to Wordpress and since I don't have any idea what to do, i know that guys from this forum can help me. Please....
My blog is (http://wazzup-web.blogspot.com) and what I want is to get my own domain name and I want to do it with Wordpress.

Questions:
1. I'm quite confuse between WORDPRESS.ORG and WORDPRESS.COM?
Wordpress.org says that I should download the latest stable release of WordPress (Version 2.8.4), while WORDPRESS.COM says that I should sign up. Should I download or should I sign up?

2. Should I get a web hosting and what is it? And also, I've heard that Dream Host is a good choice but I don't really know why should I use it. Because in blogger, what I do is just write a post and publish it and I don't need to get web hosting so I'm kinda confuse right now...

3. If I use Wordpress, and I'll get my own domain name, how much should I pay to Wordpress? Is it a monthly basis or I'll just pay once?

Please help me guys... and also, I don't have a big budget... You think it'll be worth it to transfer to Wordpress? thank you sooo much guys!!!!

  1. Wordpress.com is a hosted version of Wordpress, similar to what you had on Blogspot. Use this if you don't want to get a hosting account and your own domain. There are some restrictions on Wordpress.com compared to running your own installation on your own hosting account. I'm not sure exactly what they are - you can't have your own domain name, and I think you can only use certain themes and plugins.
  2. You do need hosting if you want your own domain and your own copy of Wordpress. Some hosting providers will have Wordpress already installed.
  3. Wordpress is free (open source). You'd only have to pay for your hosting account.
