How Much Do You Pay A Month For Hosting?

I currently get the following for $20 a month and wondered if it was a good deal compared to what you guys pay:

• 400 MB Storage
• Unrestricted Bandwidth
• 3 IP Address
• Unlimited Email
• Unlimited Domains
• Free Ecommerce Setup
• Autoresponders
• Control Panel
• 30 GB Transfer
• Free Shopping Cart
• $39.95 mo.
• $0.00 setup

I also have a dedicated server for $50 a month. with no setup fee.

So is the above a good price on virtual hosting with all the extra add ons for free like my own CGI bin, MySQL DB, Perl, Php4 etc.

Lee

Hmm... You can't have both unrestricted bandwidth and 30 GB transfer. Which one is it? Also, you've both mentioned $20/mo and $39.95/mo??

Zollet,

The unrestricted refers to the bandwidth being unmetered, i.e, it could speed up at some point, the transfer speed could also slow down at some point.

Apologies for not making myself clear.

The $20 per month is for deal that *I* have with the host and the $39.95 is what the usual charge is. The virtual server should actually be charged around $300 monthly also..lol i know that is a good deal but when it comes to cegent bandwidth and virtual hosting accounts i actually am clueless lol

To be honest, 30GB COGENT bandwidth for $20/mo isn't very cheap since your host is most likely paying ~$100/mo for a server including 600GB of monthly transfer. I'm sure you already know that COGENT is the cheapest bandwidth in the market.

Make sure you go with a good provided.

We use OLM.net and so far it's been very good. It's so much trouble to change provider later if you have build in scripts to your site.

Actually I used webintellects before on their unlimited plan.

I got to say they're pretty good. They kicked out their customer that violated their TOS.

We're paying $999 for a T-1 line into our offices and probably $120 for an electrical bill to host a 42U rack Wink

Let's see.. PHP / MySQL, Linux, Network Backups, separate database server, 3 machines, a NAS device, couple Raq 4is, managed switches....

I use omnis.com. I pay $6.95 a month. They have been my best host so far. If price isn't an issue then I would go with cihost.com.
