Host Gator
My experience has been good with little to non existant downtime. But i do think the price is high.
Looking for a stable host and one that is reliable then i would vouch for Host gator but please dont just take my word for it.
Research is the important to any host you choose.
I have had Powweb in the past and thinking about going back since its a little cheaper.
Just my 2 cents

I don't understand the point of this post? Did someone else ask a question that you are trying to answer?

I am not Mod but I am sure the users here would love a good review. It just seem the information was very limited and little to know details were given. Thus IMO giving little value.
You said HostGator has little to know DownTime but the price is high. Not to take your word for it. Please provide some details with more context. The overall review will be much more valuable.

If you are lucky with your hosting - so be with them. I don't see any point in finding the others.

I don't think it's expensive. You get what you pay for. I believe you know about it.

I've had hosting with HG and would never go back there, the help is somewhere in India, the downtime was shocking (sadly the easymoniter stats wont let me go back that far to show proof) and the admin team are very sneaky with their forum. The forum makes them look very good, like the sun shines out their butt but what you don't realise is they edit the forums to suit themselves, they ask for feedback but when someone is honest about the crap service the thread gets deleted. Is easy enough to see this in action, just watch the forums for a week or so, watch the post counts in each section and ratio of good and bad.
pre purchase contact is amazingly fast, post contact ... you need a hobby like watching paint dry so can do it while you wait. If you pay by credit card watch your statements very carefully.
Shop around, if the deal is to good to be true or the host is a perfect one then dont stop, just keep looking.
In reality all hosts have problems, whether it be down time, hackers, programme (version) bugs etc and customers that are never pleased
