Hey Justin, I was bored today and felt like looking up your info on DomianWatch.com

Is Fireburn.com hosted by TrueHosting.com? I have heard a TON of bad things about them and I am just wondering how your experience has been with them?

Hey Rob,

Yep- my site is hosted by TrueHosting, but once my dedicated server is up and running I won't be...

I decided to use them 'cause they had the "cheapest prices." Their prices are very good, if you buy into the "unlimited features" thing. But their customer service isn't the greatest. Either my e-mails are answered in 20 minutes or never answered. It's like their system deleted their mail after a certain amount of minutes or something.

The downtime has been the main problem in my opinion. I have a service that monitors my site's uptime, and it says every few days it's down or very VERY slow. I can see this when checking my e-mail, IT TAKES FOREVER TO CONNECT.

Also- did you e-mail someone last night asking about TrueHosting? Cause my best friend, John, got an e-mail from someone asking him. The person (you?) said that the person they (TrueHosting) resell from (?) is terminating their account? I don't know this for a fact, but the date is 1/11/00... Hmmm...

Hi Justin, take a look at this: http://www.technogirl.net/99tales/weaselboy.htm

If you have seen it already from when it was posted on TWF boards (I think), it has been updated since then so you might want to check out the new stuff again... it's actually pretty funny

After reading that, I don't think you're going to need to take any threats from them seriously . Well, good luck cancelling, let us know how it turns out!

Justin, no I did not contact anyone about TrueHosting. From all the things I have read about this 'company' , you may have a difficult time cancelling your account. Please keep us updated

That's interesting. Well I got the exact same e-mail everyone else got when trying to cancel. I have to fax them a signed letter. I tried the fax number, and IT WORKED?!?!? Weird- I guess they got it fixed

If you have trouble closing your account go to http://ibill.com and they will do it for you the phone number is on the contact page. That way you have nothing to do with true host and ibill has more power over truehost on who gets charged. This only works if ibill appears on your credit card statement.

You guys say that colucus is going to shut down the servers. What stops truehost form moving servers to a different host? And you say that ibill is going to shut them down. What stops them form getting a new merchant account?

Good luck Justin

Thanks Mike. ibill does show up on my CC. What do you think I should try first? Faxing them or just going to ibill?

I would try faxing them (long distance) first. Then call up ibill and tell them you tried but they wont close your account. Because I read that most of the time after the fax the account is still open and/or the fax machine is not even on.
