Hey guys,

I was wondering... should I continue to host my own website - as slow as it goes with 128ISDN .. or should I pay $88 dollars a year for a Very nice host. I mean - its hard for me to upload stuff anyways with shuch a show *** connection, and I love having 300gigs of space (ROFL) - but sometimes people cannot access it (I use Apache 1.3)
I have mySQL and php/asp/xml support on my server... I am just a student... this is no multimedia websites. I just host a few message boards and files and so such. But the main reason I havent gotten a reaaly good server is cuz of the money... and the fact that I would have to upload stuff (*sigh* what a pain).

Any advise?

I want spacce, php, and mySQL support and good bandwidth limit. I know its impossible to get a GOOD free host with php and unlimited mySQL db's - rofl.

*sigh* I gonna have to work on this

I would say move it to a host, the services you would get in return would make it worth it.

not sure why you would need unlimited dbs. you can have as many tables as you want with one db in most cases; however, some companies charge for the amount of space your db takes up.

I'd recommend getting a proper host.

What sort of files take up 300 megabytes?

I think he means that space is on his own box, as opposed to a separate (re)seller's. Smiling
