Going to build a support ticket system...
Hi everyone... I am going to make an excellent support ticket system very soon. I think that support ticket systems are definitely used most alongside web hosting, so I ask all of you hosting providers for help.
Please let me know of all the features you feel this product should include!
Thanks to everyone in advance!

Kevin, do you know how many ticket support systems there are out there? If you want to create a product that can compete with the market, it has to be fast, secure, feature-filled and cheap.
Here are some existing helpdesk links...

http://www.perldesk.com/ (free)
http://www.ubersmith.com/ (billing and heldesk)
http://www.modernbill.com/ (billing and helpdesk)
http://www.perlbill.com/ (billing and helpdesk)
The list goes on and on...
Anyways, good luck.

It is my opinion that they are all quite expensive, only catering to those who have that much money to spend. I constantly see new web hosting biz's popping up, most with low budgets.
Well, do you have any suggestions or a request for a different product?

Kevin, some are expensive, but not all of them.
Perldesk is free (which is why a lot of smaller hosts use it). Modernbill is $14.95-$24.95/mo (even a smaller web host can afford that much) and it includes billing and client management. Kayako is like $250 to buy.. etc..
I'm not saying don't do it. I'm saying that a helpdesk is a very big project and that you should think about before starting working on such project. If you think you can offer a better product at a lower price, then by all means, do it.
