You do still retain the rights but i am not sure if you can change the domain details I.e the Who is info. I had a domain with them and have recently transfered because I wanted to include more personal details in the domain reg.
I was told that once it is reg. as private all admin functions have to be completed by them to keep it private.
Otherwise if this is not a prob for you then its good to go.
Concerning GoDaddy - I would recommend NOT parking domain names there - they will not do a 301 re-direct for you, only a temp 302. Course, there are ways around it, if you are educated enough (I not, but trying, lol)
I just re-registered there last night and the main reason I didn't do the private registration is because I had to create a new acount and I was feeling too lazy. Thanks for bringing this up though, it's nice to know about the details.
(Is it just me, or is their site getting increasingly cluttered and unusable?)
yea, that's a shame, too. They offer good prices, but things are getting way too cluttered.

Yes, if you register a domain through GoDaddy, you retain full rights/control over it. GoDaddy is an ICANN accreddited registrar.
