www.webjump.com offers free hosting for your domain, but you have to pay the domain itself.
don't know if this helps...

Since you always have to pay Internic (or whoever) to register your name, I don't see how it can be "free".

Any quality hosting company will submit your registration info to Internic for free pay you still have to pay the Internic fees yourself which are billed to you directly.

Hi,

I haven't tried "registernic" myself,
but some of my friends reported that they tried to use them
as a cheap way to park some good names till they where sold and ...
... your guess is right.
They just grabbed the good names themselfes.

If your name isn't "that good" it may be a solution, but if you want your company name, BEWARE.

just my 2 cents.

No,

if you read (the german) agreement carefully they state that they don't gurantee any service and that they can reject every request without any reason.

unfortunatly by the time they send you the mail with their rejection, the domain is already taken Sad

but, that _could_ happen everywhere.

I'll stick to my hosts and maybe yours.
