Is there a way of finding out which host a particular site uses, other than asking?

Thanks

Do a whois lookup and see where the DNS info points to. Or, you can open up DOS and type tracert domainname.com.

To look up who host a dedicated server:

  1. Go to domainwatch.com and type in the url of the website.
  2. Copy one of the IP addresses listed for the server.
  3. Go to http://whois.arin.net/whois and search for the IP address.
  4. Their should be a company name and address given, that's who owns the IP address, and ultimately hosts the site/host.
