Earning with resellers
I've ran many kind of reseller business, but the problem is that you can't mostly win with reseller as you don't control the server. It's many times a little problem to say to your customer that the server is down and when he asks more just to say that the support is fixing it. Personally I think that business with reseller is unfair to the customer. What do you think?

My personal vision of the situation is that gradually reseller market will start vanishing, as pople are becoming more and more efficient when it comes to server management and VPS pricing is getting lower and lower.

Don't think it's unfair - why? Reselling business is rather profitable if you run it correctly and your hosting provides in-house support as say Ahosting.biz does.

Ruth has a good point here, VPS are bridging a gap, although instead of replacing resellers maybe they're what resellers will start to use. That would stop a few of those server down issues, or at least the ones due to configuration problems.
It is a little unfair if you--as a reseller--can't tell your customers what's going on and when a problem might be fixed. Really hosts should keep their resellers informed of any issues though.

If we are talking about resellers I think that we need to understand that for end customers important to have good service and they do not worry about the kind of web hosting you use. I would vote for reseller account here. All that you need is find good and decent web hosting company like HostWW.net or Lunarpages.com etc. I mean find the company which doing good service for you as for reseller and your customers.

Still I think that quality reselling hosting providers like webhostingbuzz.com and resellerpanel.com are here to stay, even if the general level of server management literacy is to be raised.

I think that the main thing of success is right choice. There are tons of companies which are looking for such kind of solutions and only some of them giving good service. The friend of mine got reseller account on the utropicmedia.net. He is running small business. And he said he had chosen right service provider. I think that no money, but right choice is the way to get great service.

The most important thing for a host is to be honest with clients and don't underestimate their intelligence, I think they are usually able to understand what is happening on the server and be patient if they know the issue is going to be settled soon.
