domain name
gowebsite.com offers a domain name in .com only for $8 for a year. I guess it's rather cheap but before buying it from them, I'd like to know if somebody on this forum heard anything of them or has a personal experience with this company.
Any advice would be appreciated.

That is a reasonable price, for a domain name. What you want to check is whether the hosting is extra. So is it $8 for the whole package or just the domain name?

Hello there. I think that it is good idea to by domain name from web hosting company. But if you have package from them. But as rule people has several webhosting companies. In this case better to buy domain from one registar not to be in a mess.
I suggest you have a look at NameCheap.com

Namecheap.com is a nice domain registration company. You may reg a domain with them for $8.88 and have more free services adding to it (free URL forwarding, for example).

Namecheap.com is a reseller for Enom, they provide excellent customer support service, maybe, slightly more expensive than Godaddy, but look for coupons to get discount.

You may find special offers from NameCheap.com here: namecheap.com/special-offers-discounts.asp.
As for Gowebsite.com, you may get a new domain from them for $1.99. Nice offer IMO.

The namecheap.com prices aren't really the cheapest in the industry, but the support quality is top-notch.

My thought on this is when leasing out a domain - think of reliability and credibility. Beware also of fly-by-night merchants that do offer very cheap domains.

Nothing special about a host providing domains, lots of hosting companies do that, so how much do they charge for a .com domain.
247-host.com also sells domains, as well as ahosting.biz.
