Are there any out there? I don't think so anymore, although I could be wrong as I am not in the market for that type of thing. Is it really worth it, besides, to give ownership of your site (which is essentially what you're doing) when you can own your domain for under $10? It's the cost of three cups of coffee.
I recommend 000domains.com for domains, although there are cheaper ones. Run a search and you'll find some. Good luck.
So let me get this straight, you want someone to host your website with a unique domain name, for free? I think the confusing part is that there are "domain hosts" that are not hosting for websites (web hosts) but instead redirects and repositories and such, and some registrars serve this function as well.
If you are looking for a free web host that will let you use your own domain name, that's a different kettle of fish.
I don't know of any, but I'm not in the market for one. I believe Tripod and possibly other free web hosts have a domain name option, but that's old rumours I'm repeating, you'd have to check.
If they don't suit you, try a search here - that's where I went first.

I can't recommend any from personal experience, but I had a look for a friend a few months ago. Here's a few which had good comments around the net:
NeoPages
SpacePorts
Cool Free Pages
xOasis
FreeServers
NetFirms
ZeroCatch
