Does your host offer raw access logs for previous months? I am finding that many shared hosting providers only let you download the current log file which is then reset every month.

I think that is pretty common, otherwise they are using valuable space for keeping logfiles which a lot of people don't use.

when I was on a plesk server I only had logs for a week before being over written, now I'm on esmin it's 4 weeks worth with the oldest week being replaced by the newes week.
I'd hate for my weekly logs to be put as one bigger month, I'm already getting several mb each week

I use WebPros.co.nz and they give you the stats/access logs right from the start, and it doesn't reset either so if you want go check it out Smiling

My host (VenturesOnline) gives me log access for as many months as I want, without resetting anything. I would be upset if a host deleted my records without my approval, to be honest. That said, I still delete my log files to clear up space, that's my choice.

It could depend on what control panel they are using also, We use cpanel and log files are continuous they do not get erased.

it really depends on the host (and whether the logs are considered part of your alloted space). good hosts will gzip your logs as well.
