I need to get a dedicated server, however I want it fast, reliable, and fast again. I expect about 10,000-15,000 hits a day, and a UBB with many posts (around 300) a day. I will have some multimedia (Real Audio/Video), that will be accessed a fair amount of times a day.

I would like to know, from experience and word of mouth (from reliable sources) if DigitalNation's servers, are very fast to load, on the high speed line part.

What is some good server specifications for my requirements? I have a Pentium 3 500 w/ 128MB RAM and a 4G SCSI in mind. What would you go with?

Also I dont know if I want tape backup, but maybe a second hard drive for sure. What would you recommend from experiences?

Also any comments, suggestions or concerns are appreciated.

Adam,
I don't know if you are still interested in answers to your question.
As an end user, I have used Phil Askey's digicam comparison engine http://photo.askey.net/reviews/compare.asp
which runs on DN and for me it runs fast enough. However, I don't know anything about running server SW on them.
Why don't you ask DN for references, then contact those references? Also, possibly Phil Askey can give you some insights; contact him by clicking on the above URL's Feedback link.
