If you looking for a very simple account then I can recommened onestop.net, but your domainname will be yourdomainname.onestop.net (yourdomainname --> the name which you want)and a banner add of that company.
If you don't want any banner and a want a domainame which is just yourdomainname.com then you have [a number of ] plans.

Do a Google search for free hosts. If you don't mind banners and tons of advertising and next to no features there plenty around.

The only free good and simple one I can think of is Orcon you get a free email [email protected] and a sub domain, you.orcon.net.nz/ you get 10MB and FTP access (only). Its yours for life. No ads, banners or anything, just web space email and FTP access. Further more, you can upload what ever the hell you want. .mp3, .exe...

Yea, there are a number of free ones out there that don't even have banner adverts on them. Do some Googling and you'll turn up tons and tons..
Just remember - you get what you pay for..

Hi,
What price you agree to pay. If you need hosting for a dollar or two it will be easy to find one. Just browse within webhostdir.com or search at Google.

D.

I use a company called powweb (powweb.com) for my hosting needs. You said you dont need the bells and whistles, which is fine, but they're there if you need them. I have had a least a half dozen sites hosted by them with no rpoblems.
I would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

Been researching such things myself and I found something interesting: http://www.nexuswebs.net/
It's a free hosting site run by Host Nexus. Not sure if that's what you're looking for though.
