Hello,
The deals that cnet runs through its webhostlist can not be beat.... but... are you paying for ****?

Is the service bad?
One for example is OLM, this is a good or a bad one to get hooked up with?

Here is the package in case you haven't seen it.
http://hostnew.olm.net/cnet.htm

I do not want to get ripped off and currently have two communitech servers and have never had a problem besides it running slow from time to time.

thanks.

Stick with CommuniTech. This OLM deal is not bad, but you've still got better features via CommuniTech for a few extra bucks a month.

You can always find better deals, for example CI Host gives 1GB of storage for $20 a month. CommuniTech is one of the best deals I've found - for my use at least.

I can still get the $14.95 Deal If I just add another account as a reseller.
I might do that.
But it takes so many hops on a lookup.

Try southernillinois.net and see what I mean or si2k.com

I want a faster server, but need at least 250MB of space.

I don't know if OLM is faster or not.

Someone referred me to one that is really fast but I can't find it now.
It has a eye as the logo and you had to email them for prices as they didn't host way too many like other do.
It had a catchy name that might have had a X in it.
I wish I could find it.
All the host lists I find are not very good and are biased to the advertisers.

What do you guys think?
What is a fast server for ubb software?
250MB and under $30/month.

I might say with communitech but I would also like to find someone who isn't small league and over there head, but has a small number of hosts on a server, and isn't like interland that sends me a postcard every two months and spend too much money on advertising.

I have had softcomca before and liked them.
Not the faster either.

thanks.

Where are you located? CommuniTech has a pretty good connection setup. I’ve never had a problem with them and I’ve been with them awhile. I also have around 5 sites that are fairly big hosted with them. All with large mySQL databases and lot’s of CGI. CommuniTech’s support could use a little help, however they are extremely knowledgeable compared to a lot of hosts.

I’ve actually had pretty good luck with Interland as well. Their tech support is trained VERY WELL based on my experience. I have two good size sites with them, one with over 800MB of data. They are very commercial, but that’s who Interland is. Got a nice card from them today in fact.

Whoa! That's a lot less then I'm paying right now on OLM --> I'm changing plans. (-:

I'm very happy with them. They are quite flexible (ie 20 cron items), speed is generally good (not quite as fast as Communitech, with whom I also have a site), and have much better support than CT.

Don't sign up with OLM, I've been with them from Nov. 97 - August 99. They suck.

OK,
I will ask it.

Why did you go with someone that "sucks" for so long?

because I couldn't update my info with internic that's why.

why couldn't I update my info with internic ? Because AOL accused me of spam and terminated my account that's why.

WHy was I accused of Spam ? Because some jerk hacked into my account and bcced a lot of people using my account.

Wow, I explained everything.

I like them quite a bit. Just yesterday I forgot the password to my POP account. They emailed me it about 3 hours later. (not good, not bad) I also asked to transfer to the "special" and they said np. They are a tad slow, but have quite good speed. I've never had a problem with anything with them.
