Ouch!

What had you previously done to research them? I don't know that company specifically. I suppose a hosting company is like any other business and can go belly-up at a moments notice. Still, sounds a bit fishy. You may want to keep a sharp eye on your CC for the next couple of months.

Thanks for the Reply.

Well actually I know poeple they host. I contacted one of these clients, and he said that he doesn't know where they're gone. The only thing which keeps his FTP up is a Contrab entry.

Well I did research by contaction the poeple which they host, they all seemed happy with the Host.

The problem is i need the host now, and if i am going to buy hosting service from another webhost, i'll probably end up with 2 servers. (which i can't pay) That's my Dilemma.

Thierry

The last I heard about AlbertaHost was that the two owners split up, one took the name and domain while the other took the server. If I can get any more information I will try and post it.

Well there has been lots of discussion about AlbertaHost on the paid hosting discussion board at freewebspace.net I've heard that the owner is only a teenager and that the company has been sold. I have only heard bad stuff about AlbertaHost and there are tons more people in the same situation as you. I'm not sure how they got back their money, if they did at all.

Alberta Host has been sold but I heard the new owner is just as bad, but maybe not. I was hosted there for a long time in an unstarted project still unstarted to this day. Anyways I was going to pay by check, but the service was bad so I didn't pay. They never deleted my account, I didn't pay in 7 months! I also heard that they haven't been charging peoples credit cards lately.

Don't worry Thierry, they didn't supply the service you ordered so you won't have to pay. If the charge shows up on your credit card, just call your credit card company and tell them you never received the service. They will research it and eventually reverse the charges. You could call your card company and ask if it has gone through and if they have any way to block it.

It would probably be a good idea to send the new owners an email and tell them they better not charge your card either. Email them at [email protected].
