For my buiness I got a memorable domain name. It is brandable but that is all. It has no relevant keywords.

I am worried about search optimization. I know I should use keywords in my domain.

I am thinking about buying some keyword domain names and using redirect pages.

is this a good idea? Does anyone have any advice?

also if you have a choice between .biz and .us what would you buy?

I'd choose .biz.

The choice between .us and .biz depends on the targeted audience of your site.

I'm thinking this may not be such a good idea. I'm not 100% sure on this, but having links pointing to your keyword domain names would mean that any link value for the originating page is not passed directly to your real site. You might want to look for some info from SEO experts about that (I will if I get a chance).

I have also heard something from the SEO community about the importance of keywords in the domain becoming less important. That might not be true now but it may be in the future. I also think that Google thinks that overly keyword-heavy domain names are spammy so that's another thing to avoid.

Here you go: http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors#f1

This is a highly respected document with comments from many well known experts in SEO. One of the respondants says that "A good brand name is always better than a keyword-filled domain." Overall they seem to think it's a good thing but not of critical importance.
