3 letter domains
I remember a few years back, during the "gold rush" years of the Internet, that everyone was busting to get 3 letter domains eg. abc.com
Eventually people were literally selling these things for thousands of dollars.
Are 3 letter domains still worth it? Are they still as expensive as in previous years?
I offered to buy a 3 letter domain from someone once and they asked for $100,000 + for it. After I finished laughing and reminded them that the golden days of high prices for domains was over 2 years ago, I got to thinking, is it actually over? Do people still pay massive amounts of money for 3 letter domain names?
If so, are they only good for top level names (.com, .net, .org) or do 3 letter, country specific names sell well too (abc.com.ca, abc.com.uk etc)
What about 4 letter domains? (1234.com) Are they worth much?
What is the general consensus?

I say it's much better to buy generic domain names with your specific keywords in them, more likely to get guessed name traffic and it helps with SE work and I definietly wouldn't pay for a name that someone else has bought to sell on.
