Hi,

Dimensions shouldn't be more than 126 X 35 px....and not more than 10kb file size
Will pay $15.00 via paypal..
Thanks!

I am not a designer - but I would not ask designers I work with to create a logo for such little dinero.
Did you try Craigslist? Or Getafreelancer?

I would have to agree with netsperience. If you want an idea of how much people are willing to pay for logos, see this page. I doubt you will see many offers at that price.

Why logo design does not cost $5.00
Substitute $15 there, the point is the same. Or how about:
What’s your logo worth?
I think you'd be better off keeping what you've got than putting a $15 logo up there.

To be honest, I read your first post before anyone else replied. And I thought the same as all the replies, but didn't bother commenting as I thought I'd leave it to see if you did get any offers.
For less than $30/$40 you will get one logo and then pay. There will be no 3 and 4 mock-ups and you choose something you like, then also have the opportunity to have the logo changed a bit once it's done.
Those options come at $70-$100 (*generally*)
For $15 someone somewhere will make you one, but don't complain when it's not what you want or it's not very good, and it looks like a logo you could find from any site offering free downloadable logos.
Try scriptlance.com. I do see people issuing quotes that are unbelievable prices. Presumably from countries where $15 is not bad for a few hours work. You might get something you are happy with.

Here's my answer to all of 'you'....
Graphic designers these days are like whores....they will do anything for a buck. That's where we business owners come in and take advantage of that need. Ofcourse I am going to offer a lower bid, I need to save on cost.....its up to you to negotiate, and show me some compelling work so that I believe your work is valuable. Only then I can be persuaded for a higher price and I will buy it if I have to.
Or you could have just said...hey you know what..i'll make you the logo, pay me $15.00 and put my link on your website.
Insulting me with discouraging post shows how interested you are in your own work and makes an impression that your not even trying...well some people here...not all.
If you don't like me paying $15.00 for a logo.. atleast do not dilute my post and discourage others..
I am pretty sure no one will come up and design a logo now...Thanks everyone!

Well, that's not very considerate or professional.
Everyone has given an honest and polite reason why $15 is not a good price to pay for a logo design, and also given some other sites for you to try.
It could be considered as "discouraging" as their intention was to inform you that your price was a little low, but I don't see where that could be deemed as "insulting".
This site is about helping and assisting people in more ways than just agreeing with everyone and everything. In your opening post you stated you are willing to pay $15. Everyone kindly gave you "advice" from their opinions as to why that was too low an offer.
If you don't embrace negative advice and feedback you are less likely to learn and improve your understanding of anything.
It's a very sad and unfortunate fact, but "whores" have gotta work, regardless of the opinions of others.

That is so rude! I don't know which graphic designers you're talking about here but I certainly don't know any who have that kind of attitude.
A good graphic designer will charge upwards of $50/hour (often more). If you want someone to spend 10 minutes on a logo then that's up to you. Just don't expect anything great.
For that kind of price you're not going to get a real designer, you'll get someone who dabbles in photoshop a bit. Which is fine if that's the kind of quality you want. But that's why I suggested that you keep what you've got. No logo is better than crappy logo.
If you don't like me paying $15.00 for a logo.. at least do not dilute my post and discourage others..
It's not really about you. It's about the idea of getting a logo for $15. That's quite insulting to the discipline of graphic design, in my opinion.

I realize that this post is pretty old but it still comes up in google so I had to reply. You sir, are acting like an idiot. Yes, there are many "Graphic Artists" that will work for cheap but these are usually students trying to pay tuition or trying not to starve. Not even they will do a logo for you for $15. Don't blame these nice people if you didn't any replies, the error is yours. Just because some people do this type of work for free doesn't mean you should expect people who do it for money to do it for slave labor. I am a professional graphic artist and I charge a minimum of $100 for even simple logos because my clients know that they will get exactly what they are looking for. To get an idea of what professional work looks like, see my portfolio:

If you came to me and asked for a $15 logo I would laugh too.

Relating graphic designers to whores will also not help get you in finding one.
I will admit that some of the posts here were a bit on the mocking side...but that's the kind of reaction to expect when you come in with a low-ball offer like that. I wouldn't even take the time to negotiate with that because I would expect to earn $75 minimum for a decent logo design. The odds of increasing your offer by 500% is slim to none - probably why nobody is responding in a positive way.
Also, I believe I speak for most programmers and designers when I say that a link back is not a form of payment. We gotta eat too, ya know, and working for the hopes of more work or publicity doesn't cut it.
Some good advice has been presented here about why you should up your offer and/or try other market places. I wish you the best of luck in finding a designer, and if you do find one with your original offer, please do tell us about them. If nothing else, it will be proving us wrong.

This is a public forum, if people think your offer is too low they're allowed to tell you.
I find it very funny that you're insulted by people making discouraging posts, YOU are the one doing the insulting here. I've looked at your website and it's totally unprofessional, so please don't sit there and say people should be willing to work for pennies so that they can have a link on your site.
Before i go, i nearly fell off my chair i laughed so hard when you said "we business owners". You are not a business owner, you're a glorified reseller with a bad website who's "business" doesn't have enough money to pay someone for a logo.
Good luck.

And I am sorry to say, that I really would not like to do anything to someone who thinks I'm like a whore.
Good luck in finding your designer, with this attitude, you're going to need it.

Oh man did I miss out on a doozy of a conversation. Oh well, it's not over, now.
First of all, I don't understand why "these days" graphic designers are sexually promiscuous. For the money that good graphic designers can make, I don't think that they would need to sell their bodies for money, so who're you to call even one of them a whore? Sure, if there are graphic designers out there working for $15.00, then prostituting may bring in a higher yield.
And besides what has been said previously, I think it should be encouraged to discourage others from taking low offers like this. If someone actually did come to this post thinking, "hey, that's a good offer!" then they should be redirected to some different offers.
Lastly, I think a post requesting help should be placed in the "Help Wanted" section. Overall though, I'm probably wasting my time even replying to someone who won't be back.

Man, upon closer inspection, I noticed the Dollar sign, I being British-English, auto-assumed it to be GBP. My mistake.
Nah, I don't think anyone would accept that kind of pittance for a logo.
That's like £7.50 GBP, and last time I checked you could'nt even get an online-auto-generated logo image for that.
My bad guys, plz dnt come asking me to design your logos for $15
Hope you're all well.

Greg,
I stopped trolling for work on sites like getafreelancer.com because there are people there who will build an ecommerce site for $150!
In a global economy, it is difficult to compete at USA rates.
However, I have been given quite a few projects after Hyderabad could not complete them... so there is still an appreciation of competence, at least by some publishers.

I like to apologize to everyone for my rude and bitter comments of a graphic/web designer repertoire. I believe in this community as the foundation of internet development and I asked nothing more than a favor under financial constraints. My apologies are sincere but the fact still remains regarding the development of my company logo. I am still willing to pay $15.00. Anyone interested can post their work here and will be paid promptly via Paypal.
Thanks!

Still? Are you serious..? nobody here is interested in working for such a pittance. I wouldn't even get out of bed for that rate.
You should really give up - you aren't going to get what you want here. If you are so short of cash, why don't you download a free copy of GIMP for free and knock one up yourself?

No worries myworksweb, apology accepted. I personally always believed you would be able to find someone at that rate. The only problem is the old addage: you get what you pay for. We worry that the quality you'll get for that price will not be of a beginner level, and are just trying to help by warning you of that.
Overall, this was one heck of a fun flame-fest to read. The comment on graphic designers being whores, that was so utterly insane it really gave me a good laugh.

I am involved in a few "volunteer" projects for very deserving organizations.
I believe that volunteering and barter are viable alternatives to the commercial marketplace.
However, the question is, where is it most meaningful to donate one's time?
Doing free (or extrememly low cost) work for a commercial enterprise does not fit my view of volunteerism - it is willing self-exploitation.
If you would like to volunteer for really deserving organizations (actual non-profits without an IT department) you can PM me.

This is helping. Most of the posts in this topic are attempting to educate the original poster and others about the value and importance of good graphic design. It is not a waste of time.
We also need to stand up for what is right. If people are attempting to cheapen an undervalued discipline and the professional services of others then something needs to be said about it.
Maybe the world would be a better place to live if more people stood up for themselves and others
If you want to help someone out, that's fine. Pro bono work is an important part of the profession. However, real graphic designers needs to put a fair value on their work. More importantly, people trying to hire graphic designers need to respect that value.
Of course, there are lots of people out there now who may call themselves "graphic designers" but lack the proper training in the discipline. A real graphic designer, capable of designing a quality logo, would never work for such a low rate. People who dabble around in Photoshop a bit - maybe. The only exception here would be students. If you're just building your portfolio it might be acceptable to do work for cheap or free. Otherwise, don't undervalue yourself!

Wow this links rooted for months
Anyway, myworksweb, I am not trying to criticize on how you do your business, but please respect others and you will get respected. Graphic designers, web designers, computer engineers and any other professionals have their own value, and that does not always be monies!
If I were you, I would shout in a forum like this (well obviously it will be hard for you to get any serios attentions in here, so go and search similar forum) about my businesses, what it does, and how it lacks the logo to make the site looks more professional. Then you could ask if any beginner graphic designers would like to donate a fraction of their time to create a logo for you which in return (instead of shouting $15.00 out loud) you can offer to put their links in your site or may be, just may be, a one month free hosting if they managed to make a logo that will shine in your site.
Think about it! Respect others and you will be respected

$15 is still money last time I checked...
However, the publisher made a poor choice of venue asking the members of this community. That speaks to the professionalism of this community.
Way back, I suggested trying on Craigslist or GetAFreelancer where lower rates are more common.
The global economy is still a free market, and a purchaser can offer any price for a willing supplier.
Students or low-rate designers may be willing to supply the banner for the offered fee - but it is unlikely that anyone here will.
