Whats the difference between Director 7 and Flash 4
Ive just downloaded Director 7 demo.
Whats the benefit of Flash over Director 7?
I was under the impression Director 7 allowed me to develop shoickwave mmedia displays etc.
What does Flash do that Director 7 doesnt?

Well, I'm not sure if this is still a valid point but I think that Shockwave was initially designed for use on presentation while flash was the web equivalent.
...if that helps.

From my understanding Macromedia Flash makes animation and multimedia movies, where Macromedia Director is more of a multimedia application builder. Director is much more advanced then Flash.

Director costs almost a thousand $ and uses
a language called 'lingo'. It's used a lot
for creating CD's.. and also web stuff
Flash was created for 'lighter' web stuff.
Flash4 has advanced actionscript capabilities and is great for making CD's now. I've made some for my bosses Realtor.
Flash is good for everything!
I still try and use Flash3 instead of 4 if I can do without the MP3 compression and the
advanced scripting. Almost 90% of the Net can see Flash3 without a plug-in and I hate making people download anything like that.
Flash is about $300 but you can get it for
$250 at i/us http://freetoys.com/i-us
