I like to use web icons on my designs. Does anyone know where there is a nice database of Web Icons? Thanks

Open Clip Art has icons you may use. They are in .svg format, so you will have to have a program such as Illustrator (not free) or Inkscape (free) to view/edit them.

I've downloaded some icons from istockphoto.com, but they're not free. Vector art runs $3/download. However, I use them all the time and have been happy with my downloads.

I'll have to take a look at the icons in open clipart - I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the actual clipart, but I'll see about the icons.

Dan Clederholm has some great icons, and they're not all that expensive either:

Icon Buffet is good too, but a little more expensive:

Thanks Megan. I went to iconbuffet and I wasn't sure if they made a mistake but one of those sets were only 5 dollars!! Apose to the normal 75 and up. I snatch those quick with my paypal account in case they were mistaken. Smiling

Once again thanks for the link . the ones you posted are the quality I'm looking for.

UPDATE. I just noticed it was a sale they put on. Never the less nice to get it while I could Smiling

Thanks for the heads up on that sale, Lex. I picked up the Soho set myself, given the low price.

And we thought only newbies resurrected threads from 6 months ago. Wink

Seriously, thanks for the great link, Megan!

Nothing wrong with resurrecting old threads! In fact, it would be good if people did that more often. Keep the interesting conversations going Smiling And good to keep discussions about the same topics together in cases like this.

Here's another good site I just found:

http://www.iconvector.com/icons.html

These are expensive, but high quality and vector based. Vector is so much better for something like this! Makes it easy to customize them.
