Virtual 3D tours
Hi
Could anyone give me any advice on what they would consider the best way to create a 3D virtual tour. Bascially, I have several panoramic shots of a very small area which id like to stich together and allow the user to navigate this 'space' via a web interface.
Ive thought about flash, using simple hyperlinked arrows around the edge of each image, but im looking for something a little smoother.
If anyone could shed any light on this, a thousand lotus blossoms will wing there way to you!

Its not about your number of posts that no one is replying, its just that they may have not dropped by this thread... Anyways, theres a bunch of virtual tour softwares out there, but some of them are pricey, they do offer trials though..
In my experience having done a similar site for a client, the affordable and no-extra install way is to use Quicktime Virtual Reality or QTVR, research on those, it can be very useful making such 3D environments for preview of being there. However, if you want to roam around the 3d environment, you cant do that here unless of course you use a VR engine...
QTVR manages to run on sites because it requires the most minimum of apple quicktime, and it loads pretty fast too..

Thanks Demonhale
I wasnt being snotty, I just know how forums on the Internet are generally policed using the 'rules' more efficiently than a .....anyway Im ranting
yeah - Ill take a look at QuicktimeVR - I dont want an expansive enviroment, just an idea of 'being-there' as youve said. Whats fustrating is I have a 3D engine which I cobbled together in C using a base model but its not feasible to translate this to the web in most cases
anyway thanks for your help

We had a huge project before, (I was in college) and we were paid to modify the half-life engine and make skins for the characters instead of soldiers and mutants, actual people in suits, dress, summer shorts etc... and we designed a map environment of a local building here, including half of the block theyre located in, the details were focused on their building, that was the best VR project ever, people can join just like on the game, and can break things and walk inside buildings... Sadly the college team I had is now gone, but hey the experience was great...
