Two flash questions
I have two flash questions:
Firstly, I have seen all thse preloaders out there, and what do they do. How does flash load...does it load all at once, loads a scene at a time, or does it load streaming. How can I make it load each of these ways (i.e.-how can I make it load a scene at a time(i.e.-playing the previous scene and loading the next one)).
Secondly, I imported a gif and png file into flash. Whenever I publish these files, the image seems to be converted to jpg format (although it is really flash format, it is jpg quality). How do I make it stay witht he format I imported it as?
Thanx,
Ryan

First off the image is .jpg format, that is how flash compresses them. You can't keep them as any other format.
Flash is downloaded a frame at a time. In the flash preloader movie it evaluates the download and the preloader plays frame by frame according to the download progress.
Hope that clears it up for you.

There is a tutorial on preloading a flash movie on my site:

It is under the tutorials section, and you can pick it apart if you wish
