Too much Jave or tables on our site?

Hello,

I know I don't visit these forums very often, usually find myself with so much work that I get sick of it! Smiling If you don't feel like helping me, then I understand, since I'm not a very big contributor to these forums much any more.

Do you think our new site has too much java or tables on it? I have noticed that Netscape 4.51 doesn't handle it very well. Especially our order form, when you click on the order button. It works on Netscape 3.0 and IE 5.0 ok, but it freezes up on me every time on Netscape 4.51. Do you think that I have too many tables, if you see it, you will know what I'm talking about?

I didn't think it really matters how many tables you use, unless you keep them small and not very long.

What do you think I should do and any suggestions on our new design, is very helpful. We are still trying to find all the kinks, grammar, etc. Double checking.

PS: Do you know of any places where you can view your web site through different browsers and find out what it looks like throught them all, Netscape, IE and Aol, without having
to have every program onto your computer?

Thanks for your time!

Yeah, it's fast loading here also. Have you tried running it through HTML Validators (IE: http://www.websitegarage.com) and see what's wrong with it in Netscape?

Yeah, it does look ok/load fairly quickly...
I would recommend making the tabs a little smaller, right now they seem too tall for the text that's in them.

Thank you for all your replies.

I found out that Netscape must load all tables before it displays them. It downloads much faster in IE, but not Netscape. So I cut back some tables here and there, and I think I made most of the pages fast enough, even my order form, which I currently messed up and is the old version.

Thanks for your time!

True, Netscape does load the whole table before displaying it. That's why you should check out this article that I wrote on the subject Smiling
