This is just the index page at the moment so no site to critique Wink

What are your thoughts on it so far?

Megan, I know you will probably want to mention the font size but that's a client request and I haven't been able to talk him out of it!

Looks very nice, but I would change a couple of things...

1. The text in the middle with the squares on the left, I would probably align them to the left.

2. I would do something about the links at the bottom of the page. They are very hard to see.

Cheers.

Looks nice but the font in the left side navigation looks a little fuzzy or something. Have you tried using one of those pixel fonts for that?

I agree with both of the above. In general, text shouldn't be centered. Headings might be okay, but not larger blocks like this. Especially with the bullets there.

I don't mind the font sizes here - I don't think they're all that small, and it's not bad for small amounts of text.

I also think that the navbar should be broken up in some way so that it's not such a long list of options. The last three items should be separate in some way.

Cheers for that.

I was looking for that type of font Sonia and couldn't find it so I think I'll change it over to one of those. Thanks

I'm going to be slightly different and say I like the centered text in the main section, only because it's nicely angled on both sides.

Maybe add some colour to the '::' between the bottom links to seperate them
and shorten the top margin a little

looks good, my kind of content Laughing out loud

I'm experiencing an odd drag on the navigation (N7) and the line-height on the centered bits have them mashing all together.

I like it otherwise. Make sure you check for typos... Wink (airborne, not airbourne, at least as far as I could check, it doesn't seem to be an alternate spelling?)

I haven't done a spell check just yet but thanks for pointing it out Suzanne and I must download NS7 again as I haven't checked it in that yet.

Busy, glad you like the centered bits. I would normally agree that centered text shouldn't be done but in this instance it is for design effect and I'll try the coloured :: Smiling

Sonia, I tried to download the fonts, I managed one 'silkscreen' but that's only caps so no good for this, one of them you have to pay and the others don't work. Any others you know of?

Suzanne, I have now changed the line height so they shouldn't be mashed up now but I can't see what you mean about the navigation in NS7 ??

Intrigued, I went googling -- I'm Canadian, hopelessly infatuated with words, so apologies for this long exploration ahead of time!

The Wikipedia lists it as a common misspelling, but this lexicon study from Standford lists it as a variant! This other study clearly defines it as a misspelling.

Oxford only has a paid service, and I'm not quite THAT curious, heh, but the Cambridge dictionary says it's a misspelling.

Darn, that was an interesting bit of research.

Julia -- several cells in the navigation were hightlighting simultaneously, but today they aren't, so it could have been my browser throwing a fit because it had 20 someodd tabs open and had been in used for over a month, heh. I installed a security patch on my computer last night and rebooted, so that could have been it.

The spacing is much better!

This definitely rocks... design + content-wise. Loading time was kickin' fast... I'm using IE6 at 1024x768 resolution... perhaps that is helping it look excellent... but from my view... you've designed a great site.

it really does look nice. I like the top left gif, the shape goes hand in hand with the three images on the page.

Not too sure about the grey background - have you tried experimenting with different colours?

overall, cool site.

I really enjoyed the layout, but I would like to see some more contrast between the font color and the nav button on the left.

Other than that you is on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
