Hello!

First time posting here....

I am working on this site..
http://www.amazinglarryonline.com/schedule/

It is a database driven ASP site. But for some reason, the column on the left that has the month names has a different background color. In IE it shows up, in Netscape it does not...

Can I make this work, or is it just a cross browser problem

Thanks,
Keith

cellpadding, cellspacing, margintop, marginleft are not valid attributes for the tag. i.e. they don't do anything and are just extraneous code.

Answer

Netscape 4.x has some weird inheritance issues with background="" in table and cell tags. The easiest way to get around it is to declare a background for that cell as well as the bgcolor. Just make a little gif of the colour and add that to the cell, so it would read: bgcolor="#660000" background="../graphics/660000.gif".

More tips on older cross-browser tables issues in the "Tables Demystified" link in my sig.

hth, and welcome!
