Suggestions for graphics software?
I'm looking for suggestions for graphics software to make banners, buttons, animations etc.
I'd rather not spend $350+ for an Adobe package or similar.
Any ideas would be apprectiate.
Thanks.

Well then Paint Shop Pro is the tool for you. I beleive it costs about $100 US. It'll do almost everything that Photoshop does with a few added bonuses (I love the previews for all formats in the "open" window!) You can download a free trial at http://www.jasc.com. It's supposed to last 30 days but mine ended up working for 60 last fall...

I think it's worth the extra money for Photoshop...

Does Photoshop really only cost $350 in the States? I've seen it advertised for $999 in Canada!! The educational versions go around $400. (there are, of course, other ways...)
If you're just starting in graphics, though, I wouldn't recommend that you start with Photoshop right away anyway. It can be very overwhelming if you've never used a graphics program before.
If you really want to do serious graphics, then photoshop probably is worth the extra money, but for most PSP should suffice.

for photoshop starters best thing to do is buy the educational software (it's cheaper), and read the manual. Also, buy the photoshop bible. Or they could also take classes just like I did 4 years ago..
