Sound files

Hi,

I would like to add sound files to my Web site buttons. I have several .wav files.

Is it possible to convert .wav files into .MP3 files? I want PC and Mac users to hear the sounds.

What type of program do I need to convert the sound files? Is there a shareware product?

Is there a site on the Web that offers sounds(simple sounds like a bell, etc.)in files that are cross platform compatible?

Thanks in advance,

Michelle

I'm sure there are sharewares that convert .wav to .mp3. I needed to convert my .mp3 files to .wav to burn them, and I found a simple and free one from hotfiles.com. Also, try download.com. Good luck!

Thanks for the help.

I loved the mouseover effect.

I found a format converter at hotfiles.com. It's called Awave Studio. Works great.

Thanks again.

Marc, why do you need a standalone utility to convert .mp3 to .wav before burning? All the decent CD burning software like Nero, Feurio! EZ CD Creator, etc, does that on the fly in real time without the need for an extra step.

I like http://www.beatnik.com.

They sounds load really fast. Easy to use on pages. Integrates really well into pages.

That script doesn't work in Netscape 6 on the PC, just so you know.

I bought my HP CD-RW drive last summer and apparently it came with the older version of Easy CD Creator - which doesn't convert for me.
