i've noticed that if you try to print screen a video file such as *.ram or *.mpeg etc etc you will get a blank screen where the video should be. why is this and could this be adapted to prevent people from print screening images?

You're right... I'm not exactly sure of the reasoning behind this, but it is probably only applicable to windows media player... I believe that in order for it to work with browsers, they would have to code in a similar technique. Sorry I can't be of more help!

printing from the screen or am I confused? if its trying to print steaming video read on, if not, dont worry lol

I think the reason you cant print it is because its not an image, or at least not a complete image, if you paused it, or stopped it and went back you could possibly get one blury picture out of it.

its like taking a photo off the tv, if the shutter speed is above, say 25,000th you can get a semi decent pic, anything under and all you get is a blur cause each frame isnt a complete picture, it takes over 5 frames to make one picture, but things are moving so it takes 5 more ... (5 is just an example, some take many more)

also like a animted gif, if ts only a couple of frames you can capture a frame, if its a fast mutli framed one you'l probably get a blank image.

**hope this makes sense**

I think he was talking about using the "print screen" button to get a screen shot, then pasting it into a graphics program Smiling
