The Plaid Jacket Problem

I'm trying to create jpeg images from digital photos that I took at a recent party.

The problem is that one man is wearing a plaid jacket. When I try to reduce his photo, the jacket becomes a clutter of blue and gray splotches.

I'm using Paint Shop Pro, v. 9. I've tried the Image/Resize command and the Jpeg Optimzer, but the result is always the same.

Any suggestions? Confused

(Many thanks, in advance.)

Not sure if v9 is the same in this respect, but when I first installed PSP 8, the default was that in the resize dialog box, Smart Size was not selected in "Resample Using". I would try that.

And if you already had Smart Size selected, you can try some of the other options there.

Again, not sure if the dialog has changed much in PSP 9.
