as part of an error massage I saw today:

...
Accept: image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, image/png, */*
...

(I just made the bold part bold here), anyone know if the pjpeg is an actual file format, I tried whatis.com but they have had a revamp and cant find anything anymore.

I guess it could stand for "progresive jpeg"
but then youd think they would have pgif as well?

Found this by doing a search on google. Seems you were right Busy.

Quote: "Progressive" JPEG is a new variation on the JPEG image format. (This document also offers a comparison of the JPEG and GIF formats.) Progressive JPEGs are like interlaced GIFs in that they "fade in" gradually instead of being drawn from top to bottom. This enables the viewer to understand what the image is about very quickly.
