Well, as far as your main problem is concerned, I'd recommend you just contact Adobe directly about the problem. Either that or try re-installing Photoshop and see if the problem goes away.

Which part? Most of what I see is just a chrome effect. The logo is probably a dingbat with a drop-shadow to the left with a pretty hard gradient effect applied.

You can find out how to make those cool 3D interfaces at a lot of photoshop tutorial sites like these:

http://www.screamdesign.com and
http://www.eyeball-design.com

(the latter site does not work in NS6 BTW)

They're not always useful but it's fun to learn how to make them.

Okay..I'm a Photoshop fanatic, but I'v never heard of this.
What is it? (Just curious..I'm sure I can't afford it...it sounds..big.)

Roo, I think they meant that to be a smiley like Cool As you probably know, the latest version of Adobe Photoshop is version 6.

Whew! I just got the PS6 upgrade for Christams. I haven't seen anything at Adobe about anything called "8", so I was like "what the heck..."?

Hmm.. are you meaning that your options are disabled?

You have to raterize that text layer- Layer/Rasterize/Type

Then you'll have your tools available again, but you'll still have your seperate layer intact.
